Meet Sibongile!
Sibongile Mdayi is our new goblin over here at the Grammar Goblin. She is our translator and editor, in FOUR of South Africa’s official languages!
It’s time to get to know her!
Hi! My name is Sibongile, but my friends call me Sbosh.
I was born in the Eastern Cape and am the eldest of three daughters.
I am a language facilitator and assessor, with a decade of successful experience in the language field. I perform interpreting tasks and, though I am not a qualified interpreter, I have vast experience in interpreting and in the language field, at times interpreting in court, disciplinary hearings and for social workers.
I have worked within the academic field, editing and proofreading learner guides and materials.
I am also fluent in South African Sign Language and work within the Deaf community.
I believe it is my passion and deep love for what I do, that keeps me going and ensures I give my absolute best to my clients, every time.
Outside of work, I love to spend quality time with my gorgeous son, read and learn new languages, explore and have adventures.
I believe that the best foundation for anything, is a strong relationship. This is something I live by, personally and professionally, and I can’t wait to get to know you!
