Practice a Specific Technique
Something a lot of writers struggle with is writing dialogue in an interesting way that is still grammatically correct. Here are 5 tips on how to write dialogue correctly:
- Each new speaker should be placed in a new paragraph. This is true, even if the speaker only says a word or two.
- Each new paragraph is indented. The only exception to this is if it is the start of a new chapter.
- All punctuation for what is being said, goes inside the quotation marks.
- Single quote marks are used if the person speaking is quoting someone.
- Leave out excessive dialogue and ensure that what you have, is helping to drive the story forward.

Be sure to add in dialogue whenever you feel it is needed. Readers often connect more to pieces with dialogue, if it is well written.
