On the Last Day of May

It’s the last day of May. I can hardly believe that the year is almost half over!

With winter well and truly on the way, I find myself spending more time under covers, reading. I also find myself writing more.

Yes, I write for clients, but I also write for myself. Perhaps it’s a side-effect of working with words every day… somehow, they trickle into everything I do.

Reading a variety of books keeps my mind active and learning. What works in one genre may not work in another. It’s the same with writing for marketing. Writing long content pieces is very different from writing sales copy, or email scripts.

I’ve said it before, but if you want to be a better writer, be a better reader! I have started keeping notes of interesting phrases, metaphors, and ideas I see written down. When it comes time to be creative, all I have to do is whip out my notebook and see what inspiration I can draw from it.

Anyway, on this last day of May, I wish you a new month of reading and coziness! May your June be filled with inspiration in the form of words, or anything else that sets your heart alight!

If you are feeling a little uninspired, or need some copy or content for your business, give me a shout and I’ll share my passion for words with you and your clients!
