Go For It!

So, here’s the thing about success (or striving for it)… Sometimes it can be a curse. Know what I mean?

I’m the type of person that has a lot of dreams, goals, desires, and I usually have the energy to get them achieved, one way or another. But with all those goals and dreams, comes the desire for perfection and that’s where things can start to get tricky.

I recently attended a masterclass by the lovely Jessica Lull Elliott, and on day 2, she chatted about perfectionism and how it can hinder our ability to get things done, or block the enjoyment of the success that we do have.

The truth is that what may feel like a fail to us is very often perceived as a roaring success by those around us.

So, where am I going with this?

This photo was taken of me at an event that I coordinated back in 2019. It was the first of its kind in my area and it was my “baby” from start to finish. We had so many obstacles thrown at us for this event, from zero budget, to sponsors letting us down, to actually getting people there, and we were even rained out on the day! I have a lot of stressful memories of the day, to be honest, even though I know my team and I did something amazing.

And then, this picture popped up in my Facebook memories and all I can see is happy faces, joy, pride. Suddenly I can also remember the fun moments, the giggles, the art, seeing families breaking through barriers to spend time with us, having my own babies join in the fun and watching my amazing staff in action, showcasing their brilliance in so many ways.

What I’m trying to say with all this is…

Let’s look at our successes, our achievements, our reached goals and implemented plans through a lens of gratitude and relief. Instead of seeing only our faults and irritations, let’s celebrate the wins too. Let’s dive head-first into our passions and show ourselves and the world what we are made of!

What do you say? Are you with me? Tell us about ONE thing that you are super proud of today, whether it happened recently or ages ago… I can’t wait to read all about it and celebrate with you!!!
