A whole year!

I cannot believe it’s been a whole year since I got to see my book in print!

The feeling of seeing your hard work reach fruition is incomparable!!!

Writing this little book was an act of love for the Deaf Community and it almost broke my heart as I researched and learned about the atrocities that these special people have faced through the ages.

Writing will do that. It will change you and grow you. Stretch you and form you in the most unexpected ways.

But it will also humble you.

Whether you are writing short or long form, commercial or private, you will ALWAYS have something to learn.

When I got my first feedback for this book I pretty much quit on the spot! The page was a rainbow of markings and changes, question marks and bits to delete… I was gutted. But after a few hours, and taking the time to remember WHY I was writing it, I knew I had to swallow hard and keep going.

And boy am I glad I did! This little book has opened the eyes of so many people. (Even a lot of Deaf readers didn’t know some of the history!!)

And… I got to WRITE!

There is nothing as glorious as having a story flow from your fingertips! And to see it finished is the cherry on top!

So! If you are in the midst of writing your piece to share with the world, keep.. on… going!

Take the pain with the pleasure and get it done! You won’t regret it!

Here’s to writing! ? ?
